The large LCD display of the Cisco Unified IP Color Key Expansion Module allows for quick and easy identification of associated buttons. Using the Preferences menu of the Cisco Unified IP Phone 9971, 9951, and 8961 models, you can adjust the brightness of the individual key-expansion-module LCDs according to preference. You can program feature key buttons on the Cisco Unified IP Color Key Expansion Module as a directory number, line key, or speed-dial key. The buttons are illuminated, and when configured as a directory number or shared-line keys they allow for easy identification of call state. This capability provides features that are similar to those of typical direct station selection/busy lamp field (DSS/BLF) modules but are not intended to be directly comparable to those of traditional DSS/BLF modules. The Cisco Unified IP Color Key Expansion Module is neither an operator nor an attendant console. Its primary function is to provide the Cisco Unified IP Phone 9971, 9951, and 8961 models with additional keys for features such as speed dial or directory numbers. The illuminated buttons make it easy to determine line status, making the Cisco Unified IP Color Key Expansion Module an ideal call-coverage tool. The two illuminated page buttons beneath the display of the Cisco Unified IP Color Key Expansion Module allow you to shift between the first and second pages of 18 buttons, providing access to all 36 keys, 18 at a time.
